KHDA’s Girnas platform combines artificial intelligence with expert consultations to help Emirati families find ideal educational pathways for their children

DUBAI – Dubai has introduced a groundbreaking educational guidance service that leverages artificial intelligence to assist parents in selecting the right schools for their children. The Girnas Educational Advisor, launched by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), offers personalized support through both digital and human channels.

The innovative platform was unveiled during KHDA’s inaugural Education Expo this past weekend, where over 60 private schools and early childhood centers showcased their offerings to nearly 400 Emirati families.

    Comprehensive Support System

Girnas represents a significant advancement in educational guidance, combining an AI-powered chat assistant with access to dedicated education experts. Parents can now receive instant answers to questions about curricula and admissions through the AI feature, while also booking personalized consultations for more detailed guidance.

“The launch of Girnas Educational Advisor and the Education Expo represents our commitment to strengthening the partnership between families and education providers,” stated Aisha Miran, Director General of KHDA. “These initiatives help parents make confident, informed decisions about their children’s education.”

    Streamlined School Selection

The service simplifies the school search process through a structured approach: Parents log in via UAE Pass, complete a detailed preferences questionnaire, and use smart filters to identify suitable educational institutions. The system considers multiple factors including family values, curriculum preferences, location, fees, and specific learning needs.

Dr. Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at KHDA, emphasized the service’s importance: “Girnas provides families with trusted, impartial advice from KHDA experts, helping them navigate educational choices from early childhood onward.”

    Strategic Educational Vision

This initiative forms part of Dubai’s broader Education 33 Strategy, specifically supporting the Pathway Partners component that focuses on parental empowerment. The strategy aims to create a more connected and engaged learning community where every student receives appropriate support throughout their educational journey.

The weekend Education Expo served as a physical complement to the digital service, allowing families to meet school leaders, explore various educational approaches, and understand admission procedures in person.

Parents can access the Girnas Educational Advisor through KHDA’s official website and mobile application, marking a significant step toward democratizing educational guidance in Dubai.
