Emirati defence giant spotlights homegrown tech, from the Badr-250 aircraft to the new “AlDeraa” platform, marking a leap in national manufacturing prowess.

ABU DHABI, 16th November, 2025 (WAM) – Calidus Holding Group has chosen the Dubai Airshow 2025 as the stage to unveil its latest breakthrough in defence technology: the “AlDeraa” short-range air defence system. The move signals a significant step in the UAE’s capability to produce integrated, world-class military hardware domestically.

The Emirati group, a key player in the region’s defence sector, is showcasing a comprehensive range of its products at the event, which kicks off on November 17. The debut of the AlDeraa system, designed to counter drones and other low-altitude threats, headlines a display that underscores the company’s evolving design and manufacturing expertise.

Beyond the new air defence system, Calidus is featuring its flagship Badr-250 (B-250) light attack and trainer aircraft, praised for their lightweight carbon-fibre structures. The exhibit also includes an 8×8 Light Infantry Fighting Vehicle and the “AlHeda” missile system, presenting a holistic view of the group’s land and air capabilities.

    Building a Global Defence Hub

Company leaders positioned the showcase as evidence of the UAE’s successful strategy to develop a self-reliant and export-oriented defence industry.

“Our participation at the Airshow is a testament to a thriving national defence industry, built on local talent and technological innovation,” said Tareq Abdul Rahim Al Hosani, Chairman of Calidus. He added that the group is focused on “translating the national vision into an advanced industrial reality.”

Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO, emphasized the strategic importance of the event for forging global partnerships and expanding the UAE’s export footprint. “The Dubai Airshow provides a critical platform to demonstrate our capabilities to a global audience and solidify international cooperation,” he stated.

Since its founding in 2015, Calidus has rapidly expanded its portfolio, aiming to create a fully integrated defence ecosystem. Its broad participation in this year’s airshow aligns with the UAE’s wider objectives of economic diversification and developing high-tech sectors.
