Actress’ mother shares intimate glimpses of garland exchange ceremony; neither party confirms as rapper navigates legal battles over controversial track ‘Tateeree’.
Social media is ablaze with speculation that Indian rapper Badshah has married Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi, after the actress’ mother shared what appear to be wedding photos and videos from a private ceremony.
Poonam Rikhi, Isha’s mother, posted a series of images on Instagram showing the couple in traditional wedding attire. Isha is seen in a striking red bridal ensemble, while Badshah—whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh—complements her in a green kurta adorned with vertical golden stripes.
“God bless you 🙌 🧿❤️ @isharikhi @badboyshah,” Poonam captioned the post.
A video accompanying the photos captures the couple exchanging floral garlands and posing alongside friends and family, indicating an intimate celebration. Neither Badshah nor Isha Rikhi has issued an official statement regarding the relationship or the wedding rumors.
If confirmed, this would mark the rapper’s second marriage. Badshah was previously wed to Jasmine Masih in 2012; the couple welcomed a daughter in 2017 before finalizing their divorce in 2020.
In 2024, the rapper found himself at the center of dating rumors involving Pakistani actress Hania Aamir after the two were seen together at his Dubai concert. Badshah quickly dismissed the speculation, clarifying they were “good friends.”
Legal Storm Clouds
The wedding speculation arrives amid a turbulent chapter for the chart-topping artist, who is currently entangled in legal proceedings over his latest Haryanvi-language track, Tateeree.
Last week, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted Badshah interim protection from arrest following the registration of two first information reports (FIRs) in Haryana over allegedly objectionable lyrics in the song. The matter escalated after the Haryana State Commission for Women sought his arrest for failing to appear before the commission despite repeated summons.
According to India Today, a lookout notice previously issued against the rapper is now expected to be withdrawn.
The Rise of a Hip-Hop Star
Badshah emerged as a defining figure in the Punjabi hip-hop wave that swept the Indian music scene in the 2000s, alongside contemporaries such as Honey Singh and Diljit Dosanjh. His mainstream breakthrough arrived with Saturday Saturday, featured in the Bollywood romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
His other notable Bollywood credits include Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai from Khoobsurat and Proper Patola from Namaste England. Beyond his music career, Badshah has served as a judge on several reality television shows, including MTV Hustle, Indian Idol, Dil Hai Hindustani, India’s Got Talent, and India’s Got Latent.
As wedding photos continue to circulate widely, fans await confirmation from the couple themselves, who have remained notably silent amid the social media storm.
