Specialized support, priority access, and simplified procedures introduced to help elderly residents meet compliance requirements efficiently.

The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced the launch of the “Labaih Initiative,” a specialized program designed to simplify tax compliance for senior citizens across the country. The initiative provides tailored support to help elderly residents complete tax procedures accurately and efficiently while ensuring full respect for their privacy.

FTA Director-General Khalid Ali Al Bustani stated that the program reflects the authority’s commitment to social responsibility and aligns with national directives to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens. “Senior citizens form a core and valued pillar of our society, and this initiative reflects our appreciation for their longstanding contributions,” Al Bustani said.

Key features of the Labaih Initiative include:

    • A dedicated Direct Line staffed by specialists to address queries and follow up on requests.
    • Priority access through the FTA Call Centre and Fast-Track services at Taxpayer Support Centres.
    • Electronic document access, allowing seniors to view required paperwork online without visiting service centres.
    • Customized workshops designed to improve tax awareness using methods tailored to senior citizens’ needs.

The initiative aims to reduce the effort and complexity often associated with tax compliance, offering clear guidance and streamlined processes. Al Bustani emphasized that these measures are part of the FTA’s broader vision to create an inclusive and supportive tax environment that respects all residents’ well-being and privacy.

Services under the Labaih Initiative will be delivered through the FTA’s existing Call Centre and Taxpayer Support Centres, reinforcing the authority’s focus on voluntary compliance and collaborative service delivery.
