DUBAI – Legendary England cricketer Sir Alastair Cook has partnered with Queen Elizabeth’s School to support the launch of its first international campus in Dubai, where he will help develop an elite sports programme aimed at nurturing student-athletes.

Cook, who captained England and remains one of Test cricket’s most celebrated opening batters, attended the school’s launch event in Dubai Sports City on Thursday in his capacity as Education Ambassador. Beyond ambassadorial duties, he will take an active advisory role in designing high-performance sports pathways within the school’s curriculum.

“Queen Elizabeth’s School has a remarkable heritage of excellence, ambition, and character,” Cook said. “To see that legacy now being brought to Dubai is incredibly exciting. This school will give young people the opportunity to thrive, not only academically but personally.”

The Dubai expansion is part of the institution’s strategy to offer its distinguished British education in regions with high demand for academic rigour and holistic development. Caroline Pendleton Nash, CEO of Queen Elizabeth’s Global Schools, noted that Cook embodies the values the school seeks to instil.

“Sir Alastair Cook exemplifies the confident, able and responsible young people we aim to develop,” she said. “He is an outstanding role model for our future students.”

The new campus will integrate sport deeply into educational life, with Cook’s insight intended to foster both competitive excellence and personal growth.
