Squad showcases depth with decisive league win, narrow European loss ahead of critical home fixture.
Dubai Basketball enters a high-stakes EuroLeague week on a strong note, having demonstrated its competitive caliber across two fronts. The team solidified its top position in the ABA League with an authoritative 88-74 victory against Igokea, maintaining a perfect 8-0 record in the regional competition.
The win served as a timely response following a nail-biting 79-78 EuroLeague loss to Virtus Bologna days earlier, a game decided in the final moments. Center Mfiondu Kabengele led the charge in the ABA with a dominant 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, highlighting the roster’s depth.
“We played team basketball, shared the ball, and deserved the win,” stated Head Coach Jurica Golemac, emphasizing the collective effort behind their 27-assist performance.
The team now prepares for its most significant home challenge yet: a EuroLeague Round 15 matchup against German powerhouse FC Bayern Munich on December 12. Playing at the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai will look to translate its domestic dominance into a pivotal victory that could boost its 6-8 EuroLeague standing and solidify its playoff pursuit.
