‘Gateway to Peace’: Netanyahu Vows War Against Iran Will Be Decisive, Not Endless

Prime Minister tells Fox News the campaign will be “quick and decisive,” aiming to calm fears of a protracted regional war following the strikes on Iran.

WASHINGTON – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sought to calm fears of a protracted regional conflict on Monday, declaring that the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign against Iran will be “quick and decisive” and serve as a pathway to lasting stability in the Middle East.

In an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity” program, Netanyahu pushed back against the notion that the recent escalation—sparked by the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and subsequent retaliatory strikes—could spiral into an unending war.

“This is not an endless war, this is the gateway to peace,” Netanyahu told host Sean Hannity.

When asked directly if he believed a lasting peace in the Middle East was achievable amid the current chaos, the Prime Minister responded with a simple but firm affirmation: “Yes, I do.”

    Framing the Conflict

Netanyahu’s characterization of the campaign as a finite operation with a clear endpoint appears aimed at reassuring both the Israeli public and the international community. With fighting intensifying across multiple fronts—including Gaza, Lebanon, and direct strikes on Iranian targets—the Prime Minister’s remarks suggest a strategy focused on achieving rapid tactical objectives rather than occupying or engaging in prolonged nation-building.

The interview comes at a critical juncture, as US and Israeli forces coordinate closely while navigating a volatile landscape of Iranian proxies and direct threats from Tehran. By labeling the war a “gateway to peace,” Netanyahu is attempting to frame the current bloodshed as a painful but necessary step toward a more secure region.
