Emirates Cements Global Lead with Another Staggering Profit Record

The Dubai aviation giant posts a Dh12.2 billion pre-tax profit for H1 2025-26, defying industry headwinds as it expands its fleet and premium services.

DUBAI: Emirates has once again raised the bar for global aviation, announcing a historic Dh12.2 billion ($3.3 billion) in pre-tax profit for the first half of the 2025-26 financial year. This achievement marks the fourth year in a row the airline has shattered its own half-year profit records, firmly retaining its title as the world’s most profitable airline.

The Group’s net profit climbed to Dh10.6 billion, a robust 13% jump from the previous year, powered by unrelenting international travel demand.

    Breaking Down the Record Numbers

Emirates airline itself was the powerhouse behind these results, with its profit before tax surging to Dh11.4 billion. The carrier’s revenue hit Dh65.6 billion, a 6% increase, even as it managed a relatively modest 4% rise in operating costs.

“This performance underscores the strength of our business model and the global preference for the Emirates experience,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive. “Our strong profitability fuels our future, allowing us to invest heavily in our fleet and services, directly supporting Dubai’s vision as a leading global hub.”

    Strategic Moves Fueling Growth

The record earnings are not accidental but the result of strategic expansion and a multi-billion-dollar investment program. Key developments in the first half included:

    • Fleet Modernization: Welcoming five new A350s and refreshing the interiors of 23 more aircraft.
    • Network Expansion: Adding 28 weekly flights across key markets in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
    • Premium Focus: Dramatically expanding its Premium Economy service, now available on 61 routes worldwide.

The Emirates Group’s aviation services arm, dnata, also shared in the success, reporting a 17% increase in pre-tax profit to Dh843 million.

With new aircraft joining its fleet and travel demand showing no signs of slowing, Emirates is positioned for another landmark year, continuing to outpace the global aviation industry. The Dubai aviation giant posts a Dh12.2 billion pre-tax profit for H1 2025-26, defying industry headwinds as it expands its fleet and premium services.
