Revolutionary Guards claim strikes on Israeli military sites and US assets; several injured near Tel Aviv, Israeli media reports

JERUSALEM: Israel’s military confirmed Wednesday that missiles were launched from Iran toward its territory, triggering air defense systems and sending residents across the country scrambling for shelters.

Air raid sirens wailed in Jerusalem and other areas as AFP journalists reported hearing distant explosions. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Telegram that defensive systems were “operating to intercept the threat,” later giving the all-clear for civilians to leave protected areas.

Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service reported no direct casualties from the missile fire but said teams were treating “a small number of people who were injured on their way to protected areas.” Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 reported several injuries near Tel Aviv.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility, stating they targeted a satellite communications center in Haifa, multiple military bases inside Israel, and US positions across the region—including Iraqi Kurdistan and the US Fifth Fleet naval base in Bahrain.

“We will continue our sustained attacks with purpose and power,” the Guards declared on Sepah News. “In this war, we contemplate nothing but the enemy’s complete surrender.”

The missile barrage coincides with Israel pressing what it describes as a “wave” of strikes against Iranian and Lebanese targets, marking a dangerous escalation in the expanding regional conflict.
