Weekly service from Kozhikode starts February 2026, enhancing connectivity for diaspora, pilgrims, and trade between key regions.

Saudia Announces New Direct Flights from Kozhikode to Riyadh

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – In a significant move to bolster its connectivity with India, Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has unveiled plans to launch direct flights between Kozhikode (Calicut) in Kerala and the capital city of Riyadh. Scheduled to commence on February 1, 2026, the new route will feature eight weekly flights operating in both directions.

This strategic expansion establishes Kozhikode as Saudia’s seventh gateway in India, joining its existing network that includes major hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. The airline confirmed the development in an official statement, noting the addition aligns with its broader strategy to access new international markets, optimize its modern fleet, and strengthen global competitiveness.

The Kozhikode-Riyadh link is poised to serve a high-demand corridor, catering to Kerala’s substantial expatriate community in the Gulf, business travelers, and pilgrims undertaking Hajj and Umrah. Flights will operate between Kozhikode International Airport (CCJ) and King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh.

“Bookings for the new service are now live across our official channels, including the Saudia website and mobile application,” a spokesperson stated. “Final operational coordination with authorities at Kozhikode Airport is currently underway to ensure a seamless launch.”

Saudia’s global network now extends to over 100 destinations across four continents, supported by a daily operation of more than 550 flights. The introduction of the Kozhikode route underscores the airline’s commitment to deepening ties with India—one of its key international markets—while supporting Saudi Arabia’s vision to enhance its connectivity and tourism sector.
